"I just want to say that the food allergy testing was the best thing I ever did! I have always had GI issues, but 3 years ago they got worse (most likely do to diet changes I made to lose weight – I know these “diet” foods were making me sick). I went to every GI specialist in the area – all dismissed me with IBS. I had some testing done ranging from ultrasounds to endoscopy to barium swallows. All tests were normal.
For 3 years I was miserable. I often had to miss outings with friends. I would leave meals feeling ill. I missed several days of work and often worried I’d lose my job. I went to therapy to reduce “stress” that my Drs said I had. People told me it was all in my head! I would get aggravated and depressed that I had no answers! I would have stomach spasms, distention (stomach would go from flat and firm to a 6 month pregnant look- this really bothered me since I work out so much to look in shape!), bloating, mucus during bowel movements, and nausea. I agree, it was all symptoms of IBS, but I didn’t believe there was no answer for it!
I finally gave in and did the alcat testing. I found I was allergic to several things, some of which I ate daily – almonds, rye, brewer’s yeast (alcohol), soy (in all my protein bars and shakes!), green leaf and iceburg lettuce and food dyes. I have avoided these foods for 2 months now and I feel so much better.
A few weeks ago I bought rye wraps- forgetting I was allergic to rye. All 3 days I ate it I was extremely sick with bloating, constipations and spasms. As soon as I remembered I was allergic to Rye I stopped. I was fine after that. This proved the food allergy! When I go out to dinner I also get sick since I do not know what’s hidden in the food.
I know people say there may be false positives and you end up cutting out lots of food, but I don’t care! I never want to go back to how I felt these past years! I would recommend this for anyone who is told they have IBS. It can change your life!"
